Our current sponsors
Supporters of the Kerry Life Education Program
Kerry Life Education is a Community Mobilisation Initiative and many people and organisations have given their support to ensure the success of the project.
- Local Authority support:
Killarney Town Council as one of the founders of the initiative remain fully committed and continue to provide significant support on a number of levels, both financial and practical. Kerry County Council has been providing ongoing funding support to the project since 2004 and remains fully committed to our work with the primary school students of Kerry. Tralee Town Council responded very positively to our request for funding support when we approached them in late 2006 with our plan to develop the service into North and West Kerry. They made a funding allocation to us in 2007 and have recently agreed further support for 2008. Listowel Town Council have also come on board this year with funding support pledged for 2008
- Government Support:
The Southern Regional Drugs Task Force approved and supported our application to the National Drugs Strategy Team for funding for our new mobile classroom under their premises initiative. The Department of Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs subsequently approved the recommendation of the NDST and made funding available.
- Corporate Sponsorship:
Chapter 23 of the Irish League of Credit Unions have been firm friends and important sponsors of our project since the beginning. Their contribution in 2003 provided 50% of the purchase price of our first mobile classroom and they continue to be central to the development of our work both, through financial support and through their strong local community links.
- Community Partnership Support:
The South Kerry Development Partnership as the other founder of our organisation remains crucial in helping to access funding for our work. They helped to secure the initial Leader Plus funding that provided the other 50% of the purchase price of our first Mobile Classroom and have supported training and development with further contributions. Similarly. Tuatha Chiarrai are very supportive of our project, accessing funding on our behalf where appropriate. Both have provided vital assistance with the physical moving of the Mobile Classrooms through the Rural Social Scheme. MFG are also very interested in the development of Kerry Life Education and have indicated a willingness to assist where appropriate as we move into their areas.
- Charitable Support:
Killarney Lions Club have been important contributors to our project since the outset and continue to support us where possible. Randles Garage have been on board since the outset and never fail to assist us in any way possible. Contributors include the Garvey Group, Lee Strand, Robert Butler Group, Moran’s Supermarket Dingle, McKenna’s of Dingle and McElligotts Garage Tralee who very kindly provide a vehicle to tow our second mobile classroom around North and West Kerry. Other contributors include O’Donoghue Ring Hotels, FBD Insurance, The Sisters of Mercy, Kerry Mental Health, Bank of Ireland, The Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle, The Irish Youth Foundation, People in Need, Loreto National School, Castlerosse Hotel Ladies Golf Club, The Ireland Funds, O’Driscoll’s of Cahersiveen, I Design, Kingdom Web Services, Fexco Killorglin, Arbutus Hotel Killarney, Rotary Club Killarney, Coyne & Culloty Killarney, Lakes Hotel Killarney, Sheen Falls Hotel Kenmare, Daly’s Supervalu Killarney, Foleys Guesthouse Kenmare, Galvin Developments Killarney, Davitt’s Restaurant Kenmare, Sheahans of Rathmore, The Lime Tree Restaurant Kenmare, O’Connor’s Pharmacy, Cahersiveen, Killarney Towers Hotel, Killarney, and the many other businesses and individuals who have been so generous in support of our work.
