7th August - Bank Holiday Monday
We were invited by Jimmy Fleming to be one of the recipient charities from the annual Killarney Street Busking event. Over €8,000 was raised and divided amongst the following three charities: Kerry Life Education, Killarney Branch Multiple Sclerosis Society, Killarney Senior Citizens Day Care Centre. It was a wonderful warm sunny day and a great time was had by all. Our special thanks go to the organisers and the many musicians who gave up their time and talent for free, to help these deserving causes.

The West Michegan Winds, a 38 strong wind instrument band, travelled from

Brenda Donoghue interviewed our Educator Seamus Whitty, and Kerry Life Education Director Garda Tim O’Connell, together with several students from St. Olivers. Gerry Ryan and Brenda were clearly impressed with the project and we were on air for 30 minutes. The appearance culminated with Noel Sullivan’s 6th form choir singing ‘Learning to Live’ a song about Life Education written by Kerry Life Education project manager Chris Barrow.
The Killarney Lions Club invited us to the Killarney Golf and Fishing Club to receive a very generous donation of 5,000 Euro, following their annual golf classic event. We are, as ever, very grateful for the ongoing support of this fantastic organisation.
The Southern Regional Drugs Task Force invited us to display our Mobile Life Education Classroom at the National Regional Drugs Task Force conference at the Brehon Hotel, Killarney. Delegates were very interested in the service and Minister Noel Aherne also paid a visit to the Mobile Classroom and spent some considerable time discussing the service with Chairman Mike O’Donoghue, Director Con Cremin and Project Manager Chris Barrow. We are very grateful to Mr. Willie Collins – S.R.D.T.F. Co-ordinator for giving us this opportunity to show delegates what we do.
The Department of Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs invited us to display our Mobile Life Education Classroom at the National Ploughing Championships at Mogeely, Midleton, Co.
We were there for the three days of the event and there was a great deal of interest in our service.

IRISH YOUTH FOUNDATION SUPPORT FOR SKLEM Ltd.
We are very grateful to the IYF for their important support. The Irish Youth Foundation recently gave their support to Kerry Life Education by sponsoring the purchase of a suitable vehicle to tow the Mobile Classroom from school to school.

KERRY LIFE EDUCATION GOES NATIONWIDE!
Kerry Life Education (based in Killarney and covers all of the Kerry area) makes its 'Television Debut' this Monday evening 30th May at 7.00pm. on RTE's Nationwide programme.
Pupils from Hollymount and Shrone National Schools, Rathmore, combined to participate in Life Education Programmes inside the interactive mobile classroom.
Kerry Life Education operates a state of the art Mobile Classroom, visiting Primary Schools and offering age appropriate information to young people. This information covers issues around health, diet & nutrition, peer dynamics and substance misuse awareness.
RTE have shown great interest in this unique project and recently spent a full day filming to capture the excitement and animated reactions of young people in this positive teaching experience. RING OF KERRY CHARITY CYCLE
We were delighted to have been chosen as one of the receipient charities of 2005's Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle (Saturday 2nd July - starting at 8am).
We held our 2005 street collection at Market Cross, Killarney on Saturday June 11th.
